Why this grade
Real NPN program with mail AMOE and a long history of awarding prizes. Grade is capped because on June 27, 2023 the FTC announced an $18.5 million settlement over dark patterns that made people think a purchase was required or would help them win, plus surprise shipping fees and deceptive emails. Shopping/memberships are still prominent. Impersonation scams are common (FTC consumer alert); the real PCH never asks for money to claim a prize. What it is
PCH Digital, LLC operates ongoing giveaways at pch.com. Official rules: no purchase or fee necessary; a purchase will not improve an individual's chance of winning; void where prohibited; 18+ U.S. residents with a residential street address.
PCH publishes a winners page and a scam-prevention notice: they will never require a payment to collect a prize. Believe that notice. Impersonators will not.
How free entry works
Online entry on PCH properties, plus a free alternate method of entry in each giveaway's official rules. Each giveaway's official rules describe its free alternate method of entry; where a mail-in method is offered, the address and instructions are in those rules. Confirm the current instructions in the specific giveaway's rules before you spend a stamp.
In 2023 the FTC required PCH to more clearly separate shopping from free entry. Use that as a browsing instruction: find the free path, ignore the cart.
