Coinnect: the small, honest end of the sweepstakes app shelf

Nothing to buy, a working email free entry, and gift cards measured in single dollars. Modesty, it turns out, is a feature.

No purchase necessary B+ Rank 02 · Score 71 · Grade B+
The closest thing in this field to a checkout-free model that is not our publisher's own product: no in-app purchases on either store, an email free entry that feeds the random drawings, and an operator that has quietly run the thing since 2015. The prizes are small on purpose, 11 states are excluded, and the marketing overstates the skill framing. Rank it for what it is: the small, honest end of the market.

B+

Why this grade

Nothing to buy and an email free entry, from an operator running the same app since 2015, with small prizes and marketing that disagrees with its own rules.

Earns points

  • No in-app purchases on either store; an email free entry feeds the random drawings.
  • Payouts corroborated by dated store reviews: the top prize-credibility score in the field.
  • Eleven years running the same app, with no regulatory record we could find.

Loses points

  • Small prizes, typically $2 to $5, and self-published payout totals. Prize credibility −8
  • Its homepage says no chance-based outcomes while its rules describe drawings, and it advertises a daily draw the rules do not itemize. Rules transparency −7
  • Heavy ads, dated glitch reports and a 48-hour claim window. Entry experience −7
  • No independent press coverage and a registration we could not verify. Operator track record −5
  • Void in 11 states; email entry limited to about one per four hours. Free-entry purity −2

2Pens Media, Inc., a small Illinois developer running Coinnect since 2015. Nothing to buy: no in-app purchases on either store, ad-funded, with an email AMOE into the random drawings. Named winners page updated continuously; payouts corroborated by dated store reviews on both stores. Not A-range because prizes are small ($2 to $100 gift cards, about $1,300 a month total), 11 U.S. states are excluded, the rules have no U.S. winners-list provision, and the homepage's no-chance-outcomes claim contradicts its own rules. Sources: coinnectapp.net/official-rules, /winners; both store listings.

Update, September 25, 2026: rules transparency moves from 14 to 13, total 72 to 71, for two further mismatches between the binding and the marketing documents, under the rubric line “named sponsor, readable official rules, published winners or a verifiable draw, honest about what the math does not prove”. The winners page (coinnectapp.net/winners, retrieved September 25, 2026) itemizes “$500.00 4-hour tournaments $55.00 Daily draws $100.00 Spin Wheel (weekly) $75.00 Slot Machine (weekly)”, and Daily draws is a prize category Section 6 of the official rules (coinnectapp.net/official-rules, retrieved September 25, 2026) does not itemize: the rules name four-hourly tournaments, weekly Spin Wheel and Slot Machine drawings and a monthly $100 drawing, and the word daily does not occur. The homepage (coinnectapp.net, retrieved September 25, 2026) says “The game is rated for all ages 4+ and is completely free to download and play.” beside “Free to play. No purchase necessary. 18+”, while Google Play rates it Mature 17+ (updated Sep 24, 2026) and the Apple lookup API for id 1012750638 returns contentAdvisoryRating 17+ (version 7.1.2, released September 24, 2026). The same one-point yardstick was applied to Chance Infinite, operated by the publisher of this site, for a store line that disagreed with its rules. The winners page 30-day figures now read $830.00 and “119 gift cards delivered”, against $1,344.00 and 312 on August 31, 2026. Grades are descriptive bands; B+ is unchanged.

What it is

  • Coinnect is a free timed match-3 puzzle app from 2Pens Media, Inc., a small Illinois agency, on iOS since July 2015.
  • Per the official rules (retrieved October 14, 2026), a tournament roughly every four hours awards up to one small gift card to the highest-ranked eligible player, limited to one such prize per person and per device every 24 hours: a skill lane.
  • Weekly Spin Wheel and Slot Machine drawings and a monthly drawing pick random winners; that chance lane is the sweepstakes the free entry method feeds.
  • On October 1, 2026, the iOS build was version 7.1.4, released September 25, 2026.

Coinnect (iOS: "Coinnect: Real Money Time Game"; Android: "Coinnect - Win Real Money Game") is a free timed match-3 puzzle app from 2Pens Media, Inc., a small web and app agency in Morton Grove, Illinois. The iOS app has been on the store since July 2015, and the version we checked shipped on August 31, 2026, the day of our research. It carried 12,487 iOS ratings at 4.6 and about 1,800 Play ratings at 4.4 that day.

Update, October 1, 2026: the iOS build is version 7.1.4, released September 25, 2026 (Apple lookup API for id 1012750638), the Play listing reads “Updated on Sep 24, 2026”, and the winners page lists payouts dated October 1, 2026 (all retrieved October 1, 2026).

The structure is a hybrid, and the official rules say so plainly: a timed tournament roughly every four hours awards up to one small gift card to the highest-ranked eligible player, with a limit of one such prize per person and per device every 24 hours (a skill lane), while weekly Spin Wheel and Slot Machine promotional drawings and a monthly drawing pick winners at random from eligible entries (a chance lane). The chance lane is the sweepstakes, and it is the lane the free alternate method of entry feeds.

Update, October 14, 2026: the official rules (coinnectapp.net/official-rules, retrieved October 14, 2026) now award up to one four-hour tournament prize per Entry Period, none if no eligible player qualifies, limit one such prize per person and per device every 24 hours, and limit one account per person. The chance lane and the email free entry are unchanged.

How free entry works

  • Nothing is for sale; optional rewarded video ads support the app, and matches and tournaments earn entries automatically.
  • The free route is one email per roughly four-hour entry period to [email protected] with your name and Player ID.
  • The rules say email entries join the same random drawing pools as everyone else's.
  • Purity is docked because eleven states are excluded, roughly a fifth of the country, and email entries are rationed while in-app play earns continuously.

There is nothing to buy. Both store listings show no in-app purchases of any kind: no coin packs, no subscriptions, no starter bundles. The app is supported by optional rewarded video ads, which the rules say players may watch in exchange for coins, extra play, or a bonus promotional entry.

Entries come from completing matches and tournaments, automatically. The free alternate method of entry is an email: send your full name and Coinnect Player ID to [email protected] with the subject line "Free Entry – Coinnect", limit one email entry per entry period, which is about every four hours. The rules state AMOE entries go into the same random drawing pools as everyone else's.

Two docks keep this from a perfect purity score. Eleven states are excluded outright (Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Louisiana, Montana, New York, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Tennessee), which makes the free path unusable for roughly a fifth of the country. And the email AMOE is rationed to one entry per period while in-app play earns entries continuously.

Prizes and the payout record

  • Prizes are small: $2 to $5 tournament gift cards, about $25 weekly and $100 monthly.
  • Its self-published, unaudited winners page, unusually specific and continuously updated, claimed $975.00 paid in the 30 days to October 1, 2026.
  • Dated 2026 store reviews describe $5 and $25 cards arriving by email, while other reviews report delivery failures and a blocked withdrawal.
  • One reviewer says a $104 balance from the older accrued-cash model was sent by PayPal only after months and repeated public reviews.

The prize economy is small and the operator does not pretend otherwise in its rules: $2 to $5 gift cards for the four-hourly tournaments, about $25 for the weekly drawings, and a $100 gift card monthly, fulfilled through Giftbit or an equivalent provider, with a PayPal option in the rules. The winners page we opened on August 31, 2026 listed winners by first name and last initial with dates through that same day, and claimed 312 gift cards and $1,344.00 paid out in the prior 30 days. Those figures are self-published, but they are unusually specific, updated continuously, and consistent with the drawing math.

Update, September 25, 2026: the same page (coinnectapp.net/winners, retrieved September 25, 2026) claims $830.00 paid out in the last 30 days and "119 gift cards delivered", with rows dated September 25, 2026, and itemizes "$500.00 4-hour tournaments $55.00 Daily draws $100.00 Spin Wheel (weekly) $75.00 Slot Machine (weekly)" plus the $100 monthly drawing. Daily draws is a prize category Section 6 of the official rules (coinnectapp.net/official-rules, retrieved September 25, 2026) does not itemize; the word daily does not occur there. Still self-published, still not audited.

Update, October 1, 2026: the same page (coinnectapp.net/winners, retrieved October 1, 2026) claims $975.00 paid out in the last 30 days and “148 gift cards delivered”, and itemizes “$640.00 4-hour tournaments $60.00 Daily draws $100.00 Spin Wheel (weekly) $75.00 Slot Machine (weekly) $100.00 $100 monthly drawing”. Daily draws is still a category Section 6 of the official rules does not itemize. Still self-published, still not audited.

Store reviews corroborate delivery in both directions. Dated 2026 reviews on both stores describe $5 and $25 cards arriving by email; a May 2025 reviewer said cards came through instantly. Others describe email-delivery failures, a confirmation-loop that blocked a withdrawal, and one long-term player's $104 balance from the app's earlier accrued-cash model that went unpaid for months and, per the reviewer's own follow-up, was sent via PayPal only after repeated public review updates; the operator appears to have replaced that accrued-cash model with instant small cards around 2025, per the dated review history on both store listings. We weigh both.

The marketing gap

  • The homepage and Play description claim no chance-based outcomes, but the detailed, specific rules we rank on describe Spin Wheel and Slot Machine drawings.
  • Its winners page lists Daily draws the rules never itemize, and the homepage claims 4+ against 17+ or 18+ store ratings.
  • These mismatches cut rules transparency from 14 to 13 and the total to 71; B+ is unchanged.
  • The rules lack a winners-list request provision for U.S. entrants, a gap the self-published winners page partly fills.

The homepage says the app involves "no wagering, no slot machines, no chance-based outcomes." The official rules describe Spin Wheel and Slot Machine promotional drawings, both stores rate it 17+, Apple with gambling advisories and Google Play with a Cash Rewards descriptor, and the iOS genre includes Casino. We ranked the app on its rules, which are detailed and specific, not on its homepage, which is not.

Update, September 25, 2026: rules transparency moves from 14 to 13 and the total from 72 to 71 for two further mismatches between the binding and the marketing documents. First, the winners page (coinnectapp.net/winners, retrieved September 25, 2026) itemizes "$500.00 4-hour tournaments $55.00 Daily draws $100.00 Spin Wheel (weekly) $75.00 Slot Machine (weekly)", and Daily draws is a prize category Section 6 of the official rules (coinnectapp.net/official-rules, retrieved September 25, 2026) does not itemize: the rules name four-hourly tournaments, weekly Spin Wheel and Slot Machine drawings and a monthly $100 drawing, and the word daily does not occur. Second, the homepage (coinnectapp.net, retrieved September 25, 2026) says "The game is rated for all ages 4+ and is completely free to download and play." beside "Free to play. No purchase necessary. 18+", while Google Play rates it Mature 17+ (updated Sep 24, 2026) and the Apple lookup API for id 1012750638 returns contentAdvisoryRating 17+ (version 7.1.2, released September 24, 2026). The same one-point yardstick was applied to Chance Infinite, operated by the publisher of this site, for a store line that disagreed with its rules. Grades are descriptive bands; B+ is unchanged.

Update, October 1, 2026: the Apple lookup API still returns contentAdvisoryRating 17+, while the App Store page displays the age rating as 18+ in the Casino category, listing Simulated Gambling and Contests under “Frequent” and Gambling and Advertising under “Contains”; Google Play rates it Mature 17+ with a Cash Rewards descriptor (all retrieved October 1, 2026). The App Store page already displayed 18+ when we re-opened it on September 25, 2026, and that update did not record it.

Update, October 1, 2026: the Google Play description now repeats the homepage claim, “No wagering. No slot machines. No chance-based outcomes.”, and links its official rules to coinnectapp.net/rules, which returned HTTP 404 (“Page not found”) on October 1, 2026; the rules remain at coinnectapp.net/official-rules, the address the App Store description links. Release notes on both stores (App Store version 7.1.4, released September 25, 2026; Play listing “Updated on Sep 24, 2026”) announce “the daily 10,000-coin draw”, a drawing the official rules (retrieved October 1, 2026) do not describe; the word daily still does not occur in them. No score changes on this date: the no-chance claim is the mismatch already counted, and the coin draw is the same kind of unitemized drawing as the Daily draws category counted on September 25, 2026.

One structural gap matters for a ranking built on receipts: the rules contain no winners-list request provision for U.S. entrants. The self-published winners page partially fills that hole; a rules-level commitment would be better.

How it makes money, and what it takes

Takes: attention, data

Runs rewarded video ads, and shares device data for advertising.

Section 3 of the Official Rules says the app "is supported by optional rewarded video ads that players may choose to watch". The privacy policy last updated November 14, 2025 names AppLovin MAX as the ad partner and never uses the word "sell"; Google Play's Data safety declaration lists precise location and device identifiers as shared with other companies for "Advertising or marketing". Nothing is sold to players on either store today, though the Terms of Use reserve the right: "Coinnect at its sole discretion may charge a service fee to each contestant." No document we opened says what funds the prizes.

Who it is for

  • It suits players wanting free entry with no checkout, and is the cleanest non-publisher option we ranked.
  • The trade is prize size: expect an occasional $5 gift card, not a prize that changes your week.
  • The Terms reserve a right to charge a service fee, winners must respond within 48 hours, and the ad loop is dense.
  • It is not an option in the eleven excluded states; entrants must be 18+ (19+ in AL and NE, 21+ in MS).

People who want the free-entry idea with zero ambiguity about money: there is no checkout to avoid, because neither store carries one today. The Terms of Use reserve the right to change that: "Coinnect at its sole discretion may charge a service fee to each contestant." The trade is prize size. If a $5 gift card every so often sounds like a pleasant side effect of a puzzle habit, this is the cleanest non-publisher option we ranked. If you live in one of the eleven excluded states, it is not an option at all, and if you want a shot at a prize that changes your week, the pool here is not built for that.

Responsible play still applies. The ad loop is dense, winners must respond within 48 hours or forfeit, and the FAQ mentions a redemption minimum without stating the number. Read the rules before you play. 18+ (19+ in AL and NE, 21+ in MS). Void where prohibited.

Questions readers ask

Is Coinnect legit?

The evidence says yes, at small scale: published rules, an email free entry, an operator-published winners page updated continuously, and dated store reviews confirming gift-card delivery, from a developer that has run the app since 2015 with no regulatory record in the sources we opened. Typical prizes are $2 to $5 gift cards.

Does Coinnect really pay?

Its winners page claimed 312 gift cards and $1,344.00 paid in the prior 30 days when we checked (a self-published figure), and dated 2026 store reviews on both stores describe $5 and $25 cards arriving by email. Complaints exist too, mostly about email delivery, and one long-term player's legacy balance was paid only after months of public review updates. Update, September 25, 2026: the same page, retrieved September 25, 2026, claims $830.00 paid out in the last 30 days and “119 gift cards delivered”, still self-published. Update, October 1, 2026: the same page, retrieved October 1, 2026, claims $975.00 paid out in the last 30 days and “148 gift cards delivered”, still self-published.

Is Coinnect free to play?

Yes: there are no in-app purchases on either store. The app is supported by optional ads. Note that 11 U.S. states are excluded from its sweepstakes: AZ, AR, CT, DE, FL, LA, MT, NY, SC, SD, and TN.
