Editorial standards and corrections

What we publish, and what we refuse to

Every factual claim on this site is sourced to a document we opened ourselves: official rules, store listings and their purchase declarations, operator pages, court and regulator records, archived copies, and dated user reviews. Every listing names its sources with retrieval dates. We do not fabricate statistics, prize amounts, user counts, quotes, or ratings; if a figure is not in a source we opened, we omit it, and when a source is thin the score falls. Marketing claims are labeled as marketing. Self-published operator figures are labeled self-published, including our publisher's own.

How scoring works

The rubric is public: 100 points across free-entry purity (30), rules transparency (20), prize credibility (20), operator track record (15), and entry experience (15), with a letter grade capped by documented regulatory history. The About page defines the axes and the exclusion policy; the grade rationale page itemizes where every point came off, for every listing. Apps that fail the bar are not quietly omitted; they are documented by name, with evidence, on the reviewed-not-ranked page.

The conflict of interest, handled in the open

SweepstakeReport is published by Luck Incorporated LLC, which operates Chance Infinite, currently ranked first. We do not pretend that away; we constrain it. The house product is scored on the same rubric as every competitor, its deductions are itemized in the same public ledger, competitors' wins over it on individual axes are stated in our own copy (four ranked apps outscore it on at least one axis today), and its listing tells you to verify every claim against the sources it cites. Ownership is disclosed on every page of this site. No operator, including our publisher, can buy a grade, and the rubric did not spare the house product at launch: the first edition shipped with Chance Infinite ranked fourth, behind three legacy competitors, a placement preserved in the archived edition.

The masthead is one person: Kyle Lewis, the founder of the publisher. Bylines on this site name him because responsibility should have a name attached; the editor page states his role, his stake, and how this desk works.

Verification before publication

Before major publications, claims are adversarially checked against their sources by reviewers whose instruction is to refute, not to confirm. The launch edition had 1,309 claims verified this way; the apps-only edition's pages were checked the same way before deployment, and the process caught and fixed real errors in both, including errors that favored the house product and errors that disfavored competitors. Verification is not a guarantee of perfection; it is why the corrections log below is short.

Corrections policy

When a published claim turns out to be wrong, we correct it in place with a dated, visible marker, and record it below permanently. We do not silently rewrite. Two categories are distinguished: a correction withdraws a claim that was wrong when published; an update notes that the world changed after publication (a store listing changed, an app went down, a window closed). Updates are dated in place; corrections are dated in place and logged here, and significant updates may also be noted in the log, labeled as updates, for the record.

The corrections log

• September 6, 2026 (update, not correction). Our Chance Infinite review reported that the app's marketing promised half of ad revenue and a $100 prize floor while section 8 of its Terms carried neither, and that section 1 makes the Terms control where the two conflict. That was accurate when published. The operator, this site's publisher Luck Incorporated LLC, amended section 8 the same day: the pool for each contest is now set at the greater of $100 and half of the advertising-slot revenue reserved for that contest, fixed when the contest opens (Chance Infinite Terms, last updated September 6, 2026). Ten statements across the site are updated to state both what section 8 says today and what it said before: the review body and its money section, the grade block, the grade-rationale card, the prize notes, the ranking data, a homepage bullet and two explainers, each of which had characterised the floor and the split as operator claims rather than terms. No score moved. The gap was never a rules-transparency deduction, which stays at 19 of 20, and prize credibility stays at 10 of 20 because it rests on the payout record, two completed contests both at the $100 minimum, rather than on where the floor is written. The finding that no revenue figure is published anywhere, so the split cannot be independently checked, is unchanged.
• September 6, 2026 (correction). Our category census, published September 1 and researched August 31, 2026, said exactly two of the researched apps sell nothing at all. A third qualifying app, Winsome Rewards, was live on both the App Store and Google Play on that research date and our sweep did not surface it. It was researched to the same standard on September 6, 2026, ranked fourth at 53 of 100, and the count is corrected from two to three. Dated correction notes were added to the census and to the new-era feature, whose headline is changed from "exactly two apps" to "three apps"; that feature also defined the era as ad-funded, and the third app is not, so the correction records that the finding widens the definition rather than confirming it. The classification table, the chart, the definitions FAQ, the roundup, the ranking data, llms.txt and the card summaries were updated the same day. Separately and as an update rather than a correction, the ranked field moved from five to six, PCH+ and PCH Lotto moved to ranks five and six, and no app's score changed.
• September 6, 2026 (correction). The Fortune Wins profile on the sweepstakes-casinos page said no public sweepstakes rules could be located on fortunewins.com. They are published at fortunewins.com/sweeps-rules (version 4.7, dated August 13, 2026, retrieved September 5, 2026; Wayback captures of April 8 and May 16, 2026 show the page existed on our retrieval date). The finding is withdrawn and a dated note added to the profile. No ranking is affected: the category is not ranked.
• September 5, 2026 (update, not correction). The operator, this site’s publisher Luck Incorporated LLC, shipped Chance Infinite 8.2.8, and the App Store description (Apple lookup API, September 5, 2026) now reads “No purchase necessary. Open to U.S. residents 18+,” matching the official rules. The rules-transparency deduction we had taken for the storefront mismatch is withdrawn: 18 to 19 of 20, editorial total 80 to 81, grade unchanged at A minus, rank order unchanged. Dated notes were added to the review, the grade rationale, the flagship roundup, the top no-purchase app profile, and the new-era feature; the ranking data, the homepage briefing, and llms.txt were updated the same day.
• September 1, 2026. A citation audit of the news section tightened attributions across all twelve articles and corrected one conflation: two articles dated Robin's last archived rules copy to June 12, 2026. The rules survive in an Internet Archive capture from April 21, 2026; June 12, 2026 is the last day the operator's domain is known to have worked. No scores changed. The pre-pivot free-entry explainer's ranking references were also updated under a dated in-article note.
• August 31, 2026. Our launch-morning article claimed the ranking's one mobile app was the only qualifying sweepstakes app and that almost every app using the word sells something. A same-day census of the category refuted both claims; the article was rewritten in full under a dated revision note, and the withdrawn claims are recorded permanently in the re-scope note.
• August 31, 2026 (update, not correction). Chance Infinite's App Store availability was verified as restricted to the U.S. later on the research date, after our morning retrievals; dated no-score-change notes were added to the affected pages the same night, because the listing text a skeptic can open still named other countries.
• September 1, 2026 (update, not correction). The Google Play listing text for Chance Infinite was rewritten to read “No purchase necessary. Open to U.S. residents 18+.” The App Store listing text was not: version 8.2.7, released August 31, 2026, still names six countries. The operator’s two store listings now disagree with each other. Our transparency deduction cites the App Store listing, so the score is unchanged and the affected pages carry dated notes saying exactly that. An earlier version of those notes said the App Store text would change “with the next release”; a release has since shipped without changing it, and that wording has been replaced with what we verified.

Standing re-review commitments

Exclusions and low scores are not verdicts for eternity; they are verdicts on the evidence as of the research date, and we have written down what would change each one: PCH's apps get rescored when they demonstrably work again; Robin gets a full review if its rules return to a live URL; WYN, Play To Win, and SpinToWin become rankable if they sever the paid path into entries (and, for SpinToWin, drop its prize-transfer and maintenance fees); Vast becomes reviewable if it publishes a standing first-party program. The exclusion commitments appear on the exclusions page; the PCH rescore commitment is stated in the PCH reviews themselves, since those apps are ranked rather than excluded. We consider ourselves bound by all of them.

Challenges

If you can show that a claim on this site does not match the source it cites, or that a cited source has changed, we want to know, and the fix will be dated and logged. The publisher is Luck Incorporated LLC; current contact routes are listed on luckincorporated.com. Challenges to the house product's listing get no gentler treatment than challenges to any competitor's; if anything, they get less.
